Q&A
In Little Nightmares III, coop is online, you will therefore need an internet connection.
In order to allow the most people to play the game in co-op, we’ll include at launch a Friend’s Pass on the different platforms where it’s possible. Thanks to the Friend’s Pass, only one copy of the game is required to enjoy Little Nightmares III with a friend.
When starting the game in co-op it needs to be finished in co-op with the same two players as you can’t go from solo to co-op and vice-versa in the same save. You can however start a new save with another friend or in solo! Players will have up to 8 saves.
- One or two players can experience the beginning of Little Nightmares III for free, even without owning the game. Each player simply needs to download the Free Trial & Friend’s Pass. If they choose to play together, both must be on the same platform and invite each other online. Should one player purchase the full game, progress made during the Free Trial will carry over, allowing both to continue seamlessly. With one unlocked copy, the entire campaign can be completed in online co-op on the same platform.
- The Free Trial & Friend’s Pass also lets you play the full game together online on the same platform: one player owns the full version, while the other just needs to download the Free Trial & Friend’s Pass to join.
Despite our efforts, cross-gen gameplay will not be available at launch, we’re still considering adding it but can’t share more at this stage. Cross-platform between different manufacturers will not be supported. More info on this feature will be shared at a later date.
Yes. The Expansion Pass includes the Ferryman Costume Set, available at launch, as well as two additional game chapters that will further explore and reveal the mysteries of the Spiral. Costume Packs included in certain editions will also be available at launch and can be purchased separately on all platforms.
The Ferryman Costume set will be available in game when Little Nightmares III launches on October 10, 2025. The additional game chapters will be released at a later date to be announced.
After 8 years, we wanted to update the game to 2025 standards, letting players relive the story of Six trying to escape The Maw.
Several changes have been made – visual effects have been improved, including RTX reflections, water effects, more particles and volumetric shadows – to adapt the game to today’s standard. We’ve also included some additional helpers for an overall better experience, such as more checkpoints and tutorials, reduced loading times – all while keeping the game true to the original version’s DNA.
At launch, players who already own a digital copy of Little Nightmares (2017) on PlayStation, Xbox and PC will automatically receive the Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition for free in their library on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC. The same works the other way around: if you own Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, you’ll automatically receive Little Nightmares (2017) in your library on these same platforms.
